dc.description.transcriptionDavid Lean’s film of Boris Pasternak’s "Doctor Zhivago" is being produced in Europe, in Panavision and color, by Carlo Ponti for Metro Goldwyn-Mayer as the most important and significant motion picture of recent years. Robert Bolt, distinguished British playwright, has written the screenplay based on Pasternak’s great and famous novel which encompasses the highly dramatic experience of Russia over the past fifty years. Heading a cast literally of thousands are Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Sir Alec Guinness, Rod Steiger, Sir Ralph Richardson, Tom Courtenay, Siobhan McKenna and Rita Tushingham. </p>DZ-61-11.
